Looking Through a Screen

Postby Cubanpuckstopper » Thu Apr 14, 2011 3:42 pm

In a recent NHL game, Jose Theodore, looks through a screen opening the short side of the goal.

I have tried to come up with a simple, way to optimize puck vision through a screen. Protect the short side? (which would have been the right thing here). Go low? Remember the handedness of the shooter and look there?

But I am leaning towards each screen being unique.

Finnish thoughts on this would be appreciated.

There are some rule of thumbs, but they also vary by goalie. It all depends on their ability to read the game/plays, their size, physical capabilities, quickness, moving/skating technique.

When I work with pro's I do try to find what works better for each individual.
