A Ben Bishop obsevation

Postby Cubanpuckstopper » Fri Jun 19, 2015 7:25 pm

Ben Bishop had a great playoff for Tampa Bay.

His size covered much net, but if he puts himself in a bad posture, how much impact does it have on the ability to move.

In the video clip below Bishop whips his blocker and stick behind the plane of his body. I see contention fomr the stick of the opponent inear the right side of the crease, but much of this movement appears to be initiated by the goalie. This movement is in the opposite direction of the direction Bishop needs to move.

I think it would difficult for ant goalie to move the the catcher side, with that type of anchoring movement to the blocketr side, regardless of the size of the goalie.
